Ok, migration complete. Live Spaces was shutting down so I’ve moved everything I could over to wordpress. Nothing new here, move along 🙂
Okay, call me stupid… I’ve only just realised that I can use MSWord2007 to publish to my blog site L
Oh well… Does that mean I’ll blog more entries more often? No, I just wanted to try it J
Anyway, too much has happened in the last 6 months to even bother thinking about writing catch up entries.
I’m thinking about implementing my own blog site rather than using this one (just one part of a large network reconfig I’m doing).
Maybe I’ll just do "twitter" style one-liners or something, want to concentrate on re-configuring my network first. Might start publishing again after that.
Anyway, now I’m not a mobile blog virgin any more.
My new 8Mb/s ADSL kicked in tonight. Getting a link speed of 7648Kb/s down / 384Kb/s up. Did a few tests before and after (see chart below) and getting over 6Mb/s for downloads from Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra but Brisbane only have me 2.5Mb/s for some reason… busy net traffic at the time I guess. I’m happy with that (compared with 1.2Mb/s before the change), using same hardware and same monthly cost, no contract… just accepted a reduced download limit and data shaping back to 64KB if exceed 10GB.

I read somewhere that Telstra are rolling out 80Mb/s (no, that is not a typo – 80!) on their NextG network within 3yrs! What the…? Wonder how much that is going to cost per month!??!! So my mobile phone will be able to download 10 times faster than my home ADSL connection!
